Queen's Jubilee Scarecrow Trail

The Boston Spa Queen’s Jubilee Scarecrow Trail will take place around the Jubilee weekend from Wednesday 1st June to Tuesday 7th June and will include Thorp Arch & Clifford. You are also invited to display your scarecrow for the Boston Spa Festival Weekend from 8th to 10th July.

This year's theme is Royalty

The plan as usual is to take a broad view of “Royalty,so as well as our Queen Elizabeth II, it could be

1) Past Kings & Queen – (including Hollywood/California royalty)

2) Animal royalty - Lions

3) Cartoon royalty – Little Princess, etc.

4) Pop royalty – think Queen

5) Sporting royalty - Bielsa

In fact - anyone you think belongs on a pedestal.

There will be local organisers for the other two villages: Gaby Morrison for Thorp Arch and Jenny Burton for Clifford. They will contact you once your entry has been received.

Winning scarecrow builders in each village will receive prizes with separate prizes for private and business/community entries. Winners will be determined by public vote.

If you would like to take part please complete the form below, put it in an envelope together with your entry fee, mark your envelope Scarecrow Entry and take it into Yeadons or post in the Village Hall letter box.

All entries to be in by Monday 11th April. You will receive a phone / email confirmation that your entry has been received.

DISPLAY PACK COLLECTION: From The Crown, on Saturday 14 May between 9.00am  and 11.30am. You must pick up your display entry pack including your numbered card to display alongside your scarecrow.

All scarecrows are to be in position by Wednesday 1 June and left on display until 8pm Tuesday 7 June. Once the public votes are in, the winners will be contacted by phone and a printed list will be on display in Yeadons & Costcutter.
