Boston Spa Resident, Keith Jackson, has been a customer representative on the Northern Powergrid Stakeholder Panel and in 2019, made a presentation to them regarding the reduction of voltage. Northern Power Grid are on now on board and are spending more than 1 million pounds in analysing smart meter reading data. Keith has escalated this issue to the OFGEM regulator in the hope that they will change the rules to make the industry act more responsibly. He has now launched a UK Government and Parliament petition to persuade Government to bring in legislation to ensure that Ofgem measure voltage optimisation across all UK power networks.
